Montessori Elementary School Announces Another Expansion

Southern NH Montessori Academy expands offering to include grades 4-6

Londonderry, NH, 14, January 2013 – Just four years since its inception, Southern NH Montessori Academy (SNHMA), is expanding again. Having launched in the fall of 2009 offering kindergarten through grade 3, one year later SNHMA expanded their educational services to include Early Childhood (preschool). The following year, their program’s continued growth required a facility expansion.

The vision for SNHMA is to bring alternative elementary educational opportunities to the Greater Londonderry area.  Debra Hogan, school founder and director says, “Families throughout southern New Hampshire are eager to have a broader base of educational options for their elementary-aged children.”

Hogan shared that the SNHMA business plan supports growing with the student base, which now translates to adding the next group of grades (4-6/Upper Elementary). To accommodate the new programs, SNHMA is expanding their facility by adding 5000 square feet to their school building. Over half of the new space is dedicated to the Upper Elementary classrooms and will include a library/lounge, science center, and computer lab. Complimenting the expansion is a commercial kitchen, cooking classroom and dining hall, scheduled for completion in the 2014 school year. Like the remainder of the facility, SNHMA boasts of spacious, modern and fully equipped classrooms.

Consistent with the Montessori educational philosophy, SNHMA Upper Elementary programs involve students experiencing their learning. Elementary students are actively involved in the facility expansion. Meeting and studying with the architectural team, plumbers, electricians, flooring and finish crews. The group has taken on a special project to compliment the expansion; they will design and complete a courtyard entrance to the new classroom space.

And that’s not all, SNHMA plans to add Middle School in 2015, growing to a campus of 125 students providing educational choice to students as young as 3 through 15.

You are invited to visit SNHMA at their upcoming Winter Open House events, Thursday January 17 5:30-7:00pm and Saturday January 19 from 10:00am-1:00pm. You will have the opportunity to tour the school facility, meet educational team members, and learn more about the SNHMA educational objectives.
