Mack Plaque Weekend 2014

First Things First In and Around Town….

***A very special Thank You to our Police Station for hosting an Open House last Saturday for all of us.  John and I walked through the doors and there ahead of us was our Town Manager Kevin Smith and his family.   Look at these pictures! We all learned so much and we all gained an appreciation for everything and everyone that keeps us safe and protected here in Londonderry.

***Our Londonderry Senior Citizens, Inc. will be hosting their 10th Annual Holiday Fair, Saturday October 18th.   Right now you can stop by and purchase tickets to win one or a few of the beautiful baskets that have been filled with all kinds of treats, certificates, wine, and other gifts.  Special thanks too many of our local businesses that have generously created and donated.

Ever since Londonderry High School began Mack Plaque Weekend has held a very special place in all of our hearts.  As a graduate of Pinkerton but a young teacher at LHS my heart is always a little torn.  Of course John and I will be cheering tonight for LHS though!  By the time you read this story we will know the outcome of tonight’s game.  What a beautiful night for football and it’s always such a great chance to see familiar faces, reminisce and really enjoy our town’s Lancer Spirit.

Many of you might not know this but our Town Manager has been the Voice of the Londonderry Lancers for years.   He has been calling our home football games for 21 years Straight!  It all started back when he was a student at LHS himself.   Remember he is a 1995 Graduate!  Did I mention this is all done as a volunteer!

Kevin and his wife Sue grew up here, attended our schools, and have continued to give back to Londonderry throughout the years, never asking anything in return.  Our Town Manager, Kevin Smith, has always considered it an honor to be part of the great town of Londonderry and our state…… New Hampshire.

Recently Kevin made the decision to offer free Marriage Ceremonies to Men and Woman who are presently serving in the Military.  How Great is that!  Please help us spread the world.

Take a look at the first Edition of the Londonderry Town Newsletter below.   Kevin thought this would be a great way to bring our entire community together…. Our Citizens, Boards, Town Offices, Schools, Businesses, EVERYONE!  Soon we will have a complete Community Calendar available for all of us too.

Please send us your e-mail if you’d like to be part of the regular mailing list for the Londonderry Newsletter.  I’ll stop typing so you can take a little time to read it and please let Kirby and I know what you think.  The first few additions will be once a month and then we hope with your input to send it out once a week.
I believe because our town manager is vested in our community he has a unique gift of not only being able to constantly think outside of the box for our town, but also he never forgets all of the beautiful and important things that are inside of the box too.   My Hat Goes Off to Our Town Manager Kevin Smith!
