Some you may have tried, others you may not have even heard of. The restaurants will be broken in to categories such as “Pizza Joints” and “Sandwich Shops” and each article will describe the atmosphere, price range and menu options. This week’s list features “Family Style” restaurants.
Cafe Teresa is a family-run restaurant with a casual and friendly atmosphere. They strive for fresh food, quality ingredients, family-sized portions, and competitive pricing. They boast that “virtually everything is made to order.”
For starters, Cafe Teresa offers classics like spinach dip and nachos, with the choice of beef and chicken added to the top. They also offer more unique choices like Fiery Latin BBQ Chicken and Fried Calamari cooked one of two ways. Salads range from basic Caesar or House style to a Spinach or Fajita salad. Sandwiches include the Chicken Parm Roll Up, the Proscuitto Caprese Sandwich, The Sicilian, Meatball or Sausage Sandwich and a basic burger. From the Tex Mex section, one can order Fajitas, Burritos, Quesadillas and Chimicangas. Classics from the menu include Pasta Marinara with or without meatballs or sausage. Also, pasta alfredo, and Pasta Tre Formaggi can be found in the Classics section. Italian options like Vitiello di Lombardy, Cacciatora Alla Sophia Loren, and Chicken and Shrimp Juarez are offered. Veal Marsala and Veal Saltimbocca can also be found on the menu. Sides include fries, beans, rice, the vegetable of the day, and warm tortillas. The children’s menu offers basics like Hot Dog and Fries, Chicken Tenders and Fries, and Spaghetti and Meatballs.
Appetizers range from about six dollars to 13, depending on the option. Main dishes are priced beginning at about seven dollars and go to about eighteen.

Harold Square boasts a casual atmosphere where families are welcome with their kids. They also provide free Wi-Fi access.
Start the meal with a basic onion ring or nacho appetizer, or try the Anitpasto, Calamari, Bruschetta, or Caprese. For a lighter option, try the Clam Chowder or Soup du Jour, or choose from the salad menu. Salads include basic House, Chef, and Caesar. Harold Square offers several pizzas, both in small and large sizes, and each can also be ordered as a calzone. Choices include Napoletana, Cheese, BBQ Chicken, Chicken Bianco, Greek, Chicken Parm, and Steak Bomb. Sandwiches from the menu include the NY Deli Rueben, Horseradish Onion Roast Beef, Parmesan, and Hot Dog or Cheeseburger. Under Steak and More, choices include Prime Rib, BBQ Pork Chops, Surf and Turf, and Meatloaf. Seafood include the Pan Roasted Salmon Provencale, Scampi, Pesto Shrimp and Artichoke, and Fish Tacos. From Pasta and Chicken, one can order Sausage and Peppers Pasta, Parmesan, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Chicken and Mushroom Ravioli, and Grilled Chicken and Penne Vodka. Children’s menu options vary from Cheese Ravioli, Chicken and Fries, PB&J with Chips, Burger and Fries, and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Harold Square also offers deserts which include Cheesecake with Strawberries, Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, Caramel Bread Pudding and Tiramisu.
Appetizers range from about three dollars for garlic bread to nine dollars. Meals begin at about two dollars and top out at about $16.

Poor Boys Restaurant offers a casual, friendly atmosphere. It is a great place for families to dine in.
Poor Boys offers a great variety of breakfast foods. Their breakfasts include basic eggs, omelets, and combo meals. Choices like pancakes, French Toast, Prime Rib and Eggs, and Biscuits and Gravy are available. Begin dinner with an appetizer, and you can choose from Potato Skins, Mozzarella Sticks, Fries, Onion Rings, and Chicken Quesadillas. Seafood choices include Fried Clam Strips, Fried Haddock, Fish and Chips, Surf and Turf, and Baked Stuffed Lobster Pie. Classic Dinners options are Meatloaf, Roast Beef, Prime Rib, Fried Chicken and Beef Liver and Onions. The Italian section includes Lobster Alfredo, Veal Parmesan, scampi varieties, Eggplant Parm, and Baked Manicotti. Burger options include Mushroom, Pepper, Double, and Angus. The Sandwich Menu offers BLT’s, Tuna Melt, Egg Salad, Grilled Cheese, and Roast Beef. Subs include Italian, Turkey Breast, Chicken Parm, and Meatball. Salads offered include Garden, Chef, and Buffalo Chicken. Soups range from French Onion to Corn or Clam Chowder. Under the Poor Boy’s Favorites, choices include Prime Rib Sandwich and 1/4 or 1/2 pound lobster roll. Also available are various triple deckers and wraps. The children’s menu offers favorites including Hot Dogs, Burgers, PB&J, and Mac and Cheese. Deserts from Poor Boys include Apple Pie a la Mode, Homemade Strawberry Shortcake, Cheesecake, and Oreo Cookie Bash Cake.
Appetizers range from about two dollars to eight, and dinners begin at about four dollars and stop at about $19.

Route 28 Roadhouse
A fun, family friendly atmosphere famous for their breakfasts.
The Breakfast menu offers options like The Highway Man, the Route 28 Scramble, and the Cowgirls Breakfast. Omelets choices include the Meat Lover’s, Roadhouse, and Western. Other available breakfast menu items include pancakes, waffles, French Toast, Muffins, cold cereal, and home fries. Lunch and Dinner items include soups, salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches and more. Soups vary from corn chowder, to chili with cheese. Salads include House, Chef, Highway Man, and Chili or Chicken Taco Salad. Burgers offered by the Roadhouse are the Roadhouse Super Burger, X-Files Burger, and the Roadhouse Patty Melt. Wraps include the Roast Beef & Swiss Wrap, the Steak Tip Wrap, and the Chili Dog Wrap. The Roadhouse offers sandwiches like the Grilled Reuben, the Western Sandwich and a classic BLT. Also available are the Cheeseburger Club, Ham and Cheese Club, and the Monte Christo Sandwich. In the Roadhouse Dinner section, choices range from Smothered Beef Tip Dinner, to Fried Sea Scallops. The Children’s Menu offers classic children’s favorites like fish & chips, grilled cheese, and grilled hot dogs. The Roadhouse Deserts include Grape nut Custard Pudding, Assorted Pies, and Strawberry Shortcake.
