The Town of Derry has announced that construction will begin on the Route 28 Bypass in Derry between London Road and Linlew Drive. The work, to be performed by the American Excavating Corporation, began in July, 2011 and will continue until September 2, 2011.

The project will include installing about 1,300 linear feet of a new water main along the east side of the Route 28 Bypass. Crews will be working in the area from 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday.

During this time, the road shall be limited to one lane. However, the road will reopen to two lanes during nights and weekends. While work is in progress, access to individual driveways may also be limited due to the location of excavation.
