Gather for Acoustical Music Surrounding Yourself with History

Nearly an entire village destroyed by fire.  Ten homes and even large manufacturing buildings left in a smoldering ruble for weeks.  The only thing remaining were the brick structures that supported the manufacturing operations of local Londonderry industry.  Here and there homes stood with no damage with Londonderry residents wondering why one and why not another.

In the July 1921 fire in North Londonderry, the Grange that had been founded in 1902 was lost to this fire.  A social in 1929 organized by Hattie Watts resulted in a profit of sixteen dollars.  For ten years they held parties, dances, socials and music events creating the place to be in the mid 1900’s.  The town was known mostly for “Good times to be had at the Grange Hall.”  Hattie Watts was the last and youngest charter member  and passed away in 1953.

What about next weekend?  What if you had no Television, HDTV, Cable, FAST, Internet and Satellite.  For the last time this year Nutfield Sessions plan a great day to play to each other and invite you to  just sit and enjoy the acoustical music of the artists.

Imagine it  is the 1930’s, the soft glow from gas lanterns or the few post and tube wired lights sparingly casting light and shadow on the event.  The stage overlooking the wood plank floored theater in North Londonderry is full of artists with instruments and voices rather than computers and technology to create sound.

Artists are encouraged to sign in to this open mike event.

Open and Free to anyone in the region that would like to hear great music.

Sunday November 8th from 1pm to 5pm

At the Londonderry Senior Center in the Village at 535 Mammoth Road
