Wednesday, September 8 CHRIS DUARTE
In Chris Duarte’s musical view, the journey is as important as the destination, maybe even more so. Since emerging in the mid-1990s from Austin, Texas, a blues guitar hotbed, Duarte has forged new pathways for the blues and scouted numerous fresh trails for creative musical expression. Lauded for the exquisite artistry and vivid tonality of his six-string work, over the last decade Duarte has also proven his considerable mettle as a songwriter, singer and bandleader.

Sunday, September 12 CHAD and JEREMY
From humble beginnings in coffee houses and folk clubs in London, they were “discovered” by famed movie composer John Barry and recorded a string of hits (“Yesterday’s Gone”, “Summer Song”, “Willow Weep For Me”, “If I Loved You”, “Before and After”, “Distant Shores”). As former drama students, they were quickly snapped up by Hollywood, appearing as themselves in legendary television shows including The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Patty Duke Show, and Batman. Several decades later, they have been described as “Simon and Garfunkel meet Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore.” They serve up an appealing blend of vocal harmonies with inventive guitar and piano playing, spiced with their unique brand of banter, stories and sardonic wit.

September 25 PETER WOLF
September 26 PETER WOLF
Some people don’t need an introduction. This artist is one of them. The J Geils Band front man put on a show for us months ago that I am still talking about. Before he embarks on a new tour, he’s bringing his all-star band for two Tupelo shows and we couldn’t be happier!

October 29 CHAD PERRONE
Here is what they are saying about Chad Perrone: Alternative Addiciton Top 20 records of 2008. “The only album by an unsigned artist on this chart comes from Boston’s Chad Perrone. This outstanding collection of songs showcases Perrone’s incredible songwriting skills and unforgettable melodies. “Wake”, Perrone’s second solo release, solidifies his reputation as one of the countries premier unsigned acts.” ***** (Five Star Review)
Perrone has played shows all over New England, selling out clubs like the Paradise in Boston and garnering praise as both a performer and a songwriter in well respected newspapers and magazines.

Friday, January 22 EDDIE MONEY
Eddie Money is an American rock singer-songwriter who found success in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of Top 40 hits and platinum albums. In the 1970s, he charted with singles such as “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise”. Money continued his successes and took advantage of the MTV music video scene in the early 1980s with his humorous narrative videos for “Shakin’” and “Think I’m in Love”.
Two years later in 1986 he returned to the mainstream rock spotlight with the album Can’t Hold Back, which featured “Take Me Home Tonight”, which reached the Top 10, along with the hit “I Wanna Go Back”. Money followed the album with another Top 10 hit, late 1988′s “Walk on Water”, but his Top 40 career ended when “I’ll Get By” charted in 1992.

Saturday, February 20 PURE PRAIRIE LEAGUE
Pure Prairie League is an American country-rock band whose roots began between 1964 and 1969 in Waverly, Ohio with Craig Fuller, Tom McGrail, Jim Caughlan and John David Call. The band’s name was chosen in 1970 by McGrail after a 19th century temperance union mentioned in the 1939 film Dodge City. The band has had a long run, active from the 1970s through to the late 1980s and was reborn in the late 90s and again in the mid 2000s. Their biggest hit was “Amie” an iconic country rock song about an on and off again relationship.

Sunday, February 21 POCO
After rising in 1968 from the ashes of the Buffalo Springfield, Poco began infusing the L.A. folk/rock sound with their deep-rooted lyricism and the instrumentation of country music, a revelation and inspiration for the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, and other future headliners. Legend, released late in 1978, became the best-selling LP in their history, earning a gold record in the course of rising to number 14. The accompanying single, the ethereal “Crazy Love” became their biggest hit ever, reaching number 17 on the pop charts (and number one as an adult contemporary hit).

February 28 MINDY SMITH
After years of refining her craft behind the scenes, Mindy arrived fully-formed with her 2004 critically acclaimed debut, One Moment More, and its hit single “Come to Jesus.” Long Island Shores (2006) garnered still more raves from the critics: “Smith’s best songs sound like little miracles,” crowed USA Today. The following year, she brought that same level of excellence to My Holiday, which the New York Times hailed as, a “—thoughtful collection from a great singer-songwriter who knows how to evoke the feeling of warm rooms on cold nights.”

Sunday, March 7 THE RADIATORS
The Radiators were born during a transitional decade in the history of New Orleans music. The Meters, the premier funk band, had disbanded, the Neville Brothers formed, and in 1980 Professor Longhair, the father of New Orleans R&B and spiritual embodiment of Crescent City Soul had passed on. This decade would prove to be the fertile period of development when a unique blend of rhythms and sounds came together and “Fish Head” music was born. The Radiators, an extremely eclectic group of musicians, rely on a myriad of musical influences to create their own sound – “Fish Head Music”. At a Radiators show it is not uncommon to hear blues, R&B, jazz, country, Zydeco, soul, swing, and even gospel filtering through their original New Orleans Rock N’ Roll.

Friday, April 16 JOAN OSBORNE
Her break-out album was Relish, which became a hit on the strength of the single “One of Us”. The song was much more pop-oriented than the rest of the album, which was steeped in country, blues and folk music. “Right Hand Man” and “St. Teresa” were minor hits following the success of “One of Us”.
Joan was featured in the 2002 documentary film, Standing in the Shadows of Motown, and toured with Motown sidemen the Funk Brothers. She and her band accompanied the Dixie Chicks for a national tour in the summer of 2003, during which time she also joined veteran San Francisco jam-rockers The Dead as a vocalist, and released her fourth album, titled How Sweet It Is, a collection of classic rock and soul covers..

Friday, December 4 TOM RUSH
Rush’s impact on the American music scene has been profound. He helped shape the folk revival in the ’60s and the renaissance of the ’80s and ’90s, his music having left its stamp on generations of artists. James Taylor told Rolling Stone, “Tom was not only one of my early heroes, but also one of my main influences.” Only a handful of tickets remain for this show.

Sunday, December 6 THE SUBDUDES
Over the course of 20 years and eight albums, The Subdudes have quietly become one of America’s national music treasures. The New Orleans-formed group is a living encapsulation of American music, a vibrant cauldron of sounds that stirs together meaty grooves and jazzy dynamics, soulful R&B swagger, easy vocal harmonies, cheeky rock ‘n’ roll attitude and folky social consciousness — not to mention some of the sharpest musicianship and ensemble playing you’ll ever hear from any five musicians.

New Bookings
Thursday, December 31 The ADAM EZRA GROUP
New Year’s Eve Show!
The Adam Ezra group has been compared to the Dave Matthews Band, or to a hipper Dan Fogelberg. They’re known for a dynamic acoustic roots/rock sound combining smart well-written lyrics and powerful musicianship. In 2007, they were rated one of New England’s top five mountain bands by Ski Magazine. In the past years, they have shared the stage with the Goo Goo Dolls, Guster, John Mayer, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band, Carbon Leaf, The Wailers, Pete Seeger, State Radio (from Dispatch), The Pat McGee Band and more.

Friday, January 29 MARSHALL CRENSHAW
It’s been over 25 years since breaking through to critical and commercial acclaim with his 1982 self-titled debut and its infectious, era-defining pop hit “Someday, Someway,”
Classic Crenshaw attributes include an indelible sense of melody and tuneful essence combined to create a rich warmth and intimacy on every song.

Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27 CARBON LEAF
Carbon Leaf blasted into the national spotlight two years ago with their major label debut, “Indian Summer”. But while they kept busy working as support on major national tours (Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows, John Mayer, etc.) and headlining their own, these Virginia-based self-starters kept moving forward musically as well as professionally. Their new album is a testament to this.

Friday, February 5 BEATLEJUICE
The number of Beatle Tribute bands is probably countless, but in New England, at least, none come more highly praised, critiqued or recommended as Beatlejuice. This band has taken on a history of its own. Their talent and showmanship go far beyond the norm in tribute bands. Sadly, with the recent passing of singer Brad Delp, their legacy draws even closer to that of the Fab Four’s.

Friday, February 19 PAULA COLE
Paula Cole was one of the many female singer/songwriters who rose to prominence in the mid-’90s in the wake of alternative’s commercial breakthrough. Drawing heavily from the ethereal, pretty sound of Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos, Cole created songs that relied equally on dreamy melodies and poetic, introspective lyrics.
Her first big break arrived when Peter Gabriel invited her to perform on his 1992-1993 world tour. Shortly afterward, she signed to Imago Records, where she released her debut album, Harbinger, in 1994. Cole returned with her second album, This Fire, in October of 1996. The album and its accompanying single, “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?” became word-of-mouth hits, breaking through into the mainstream in the spring of 1997.

Friday, November 20 ENTER THE HAGGIS
There aren’t many groups in North America who could lay claim to possibly 18 different genres of music, but Toronto’s Enter The Haggis is one of them. To engage this quintet is to indulge rock, fusion, bluegrass, traditional Celtic fare, agitpop, folk, even Latin flavors. Sounds awfully confused, right? Wrong. ETH is one of those rare jewels that actually pulls it all off as if to own everything. ETH’s live show is a musical feast- viscerally dynamic, emotionally uplifting and intellectually stimulating.

Saturday, November 21 SHAWN COLVIN – Two Shows!
In an era when female singer-songwriters are ever more ubiquitous, GRAMMY WINNING Shawn Colvin stands out as a singular and enduring talent. Her songs are slow-release works of craft and catharsis that become treasured, lifetime companions for their listeners. As a storyteller, Colvin is both keen and warm-hearted, leavening even the toughest tales with tenderness, empathy, and a searing sense of humor. In the 19 years since the release of her debut album, Colvin has won three Grammy Awards, released eight albums, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures, and created a remarkable cannon of work. In 1996, she released A Few Small Repairs, which would prove to be her breakthrough. The murder-ballad “Sunny Came Home” gave Colvin a Top 10 hit and two of Grammy’s biggest honors: Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Sunday, November 22 DUKE ROBILLARD
Inspired by blues legends like T-Bone Walker, Charlie Patton and Big Joe Turner, Duke’s guitar work has seamlessly spanned the worlds of jazz, blues, and swing since he founded the renowned big band, Roomful of Blues, in 1967. Duke has recorded twenty acclaimed solo albums and toured the world both with his own band and also as Jimmie Vaughan’s replacement in The Fabulous Thunderbirds. In addition to his own recordings, Duke has played on and/or produced albums by Bob Dylan (1997′s Grammy-winning Time Out of Mind), Ruth Brown, Johnny Adams, Kim Wilson, Jay McShann, Pinetop Perkins, John Hammond, Jimmy Witherspoon, Snooky Pryor and many more. Called “one of the great players” by the legendary B.B. King, Duke is a 4 time winner for Best Guitarist at the Blues Music Awards and his live show is a masterful display of a wide variety of blues styles.
