7:30 Update Souled out has left the building.
Due to the lighting strikes just 2 miles away they were unable to power up the equipment after a two hour setup. They broke down and departed the stage in front of the Londonderry High School.
The Fire works will start at 8:35 on the dot. They are not canceled due to rain. View them from your home, or your car. The parking lots at the high school are open in front of the gym, or park on “the plateau” located to the north side of the building. This lot would be closest to the fireworks and is normally closed. It is safe this year to park there as the firework launch area is back further.
Friends of Music will still be out front with pizza soda snacks and glow sticks!
The school lobby is open for those that want to wait inside and then exit when the fireworks start (should it be safe to do so.)
We now return you to the regular story about fireworks…
The field has been set up, the fuses are covered all is nice and dry. According to Shawn at RS Fireworks this is going to be a spectacular event. This is a different vendor from last year so the Old Home Day committee will be looking for your votes on better or worse than previous years.
Earlier this week while talking with Shawn Connors he let us in on some secrets of tonight’s event. “This year we have moved the launch area slightly. That put us in a position to use larger shells, this should be a spectacular event. These shells are quality imports including products imported from Italy. We expect that people will have a experience they have not had in the past.”
Be sure to come out for the fire works! The Souled out show band starts at 7pm with the fireworks launched somewhere around 8:30. One of the best years was when mother nature added her own fireworks with lighting in the sky, looks like we could have that competitive advantage added to tonight’s show. Even if it rains, the organizers will be launching. One year hundreds watched from the car with the rain coming down, just like an old time drive in movie!
Visit the RS Fireworks site for further information on what this Hudson resident has available.
