William L. Peters of Londonderry

William L. Peters, 77, of Londonderry, NH died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH. Mr. Peters was born in Andover, MA on September 9, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ellis) Peters. He grew up in Andover and for a while lived in Long Island, NY where he worked as a foreman for A and S Welding. It was there he also pursued his passion of racing cars, racing in Islip Long Island and on many other tracks in the area. Mr. Peters held his private pilots license and flew small airplanes. He enjoyed wood working, surfing the web and seeking out new Chinese restaurants to try out. Mr. Peters also greatly enjoyed traveling and he worked for Merchants Auto Group for over 10 years transporting cars across the country.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Palmeri and her husband Tom of Brookline, NH, two grandsons, Alex and Jason Palmeri, both of Brookline, three brothers, Joseph Peters of Methuen, MA, Clifford Peters of Torrington, CT and Philip Peters of Willow Springs, NC, three sisters, Pauline Levesque of Londonderry, Carol Davis of Pueblo, CO and Phyllis Baker of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Aprea) Peters in 1983, his son Douglas Peters in 2005 and his sister, Doris.

Following cremation visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 1-3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry with a funeral service to be held at 3:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01710.
