Snow will be heavy at times through the morning hours in portions of southeast New hampshire and southwest Maine.
Low pressure south of long island will track northeast passing near Nantucket island this morning. The low will then move well south of Nova Scotia through this evening.
Snow has overspread much of New hampshire and western maine early this morning and was heavy at times in southeast new Hampshire and southwest Maine. Snow will continue through the morning hours and will be heavy at times before tapering off during the early afternoon hours.
The snow will taper off from southwest to northeast leaving the mid coast of Maine by late afternoon. By that time…total snow accumulations will range from 3 to 6 inches in the advisory area to 4 to 10 inches across the warning area including Londonderry.
Since temperatures will be near the freezing mark the snow will be wet and heavy…clinging to trees and power lines. This could result in isolated power outages… especially near the coast…where winds could gust to 25 mph at times. Travel will become increasingly slick. if you have travel plans be prepared for winter driving conditions and plan accordingly.
- Winter storm warning remains in effect until 5 pm est this afternoon.
A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. if you must travel keep an extra flashlight food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
