With heavy rains coming down the call came in Saturday morning to the newsroom, no celebration on the historic Londonderry Town Common this year.  It has been done in the rain before, with the Londonderry Marching Lancers providing a bugler to help in honoring our veterans.

At 9:30 Al Baldasaro the Vice Commander was not sure what was going to happen as they were unable to reach Commander Jim Sievert.  We assured him that people would come to the  hall and even if it were canceled, those that came would be happy to have tried to attend.   At 9:31 we put out a Breaking News alert that it was on and inside at the Hall.

After the event reports came back that people were at the common in the torrential downpour waiting for the veterans to march down the road.  A police action in front of Matthew Thornton had some fooled, it looked like the escort for the Veterans.  If you missed the event be sure to play the slide show, and listen in to the speakers that spoke that day.  You will be particularly impressed with USMC, Major Dan Tamburello who gave a great motivational keynote speech.
