Wendy Noll-Cole NH AYF Coach of the Year

The Londonderry WildCats served notice to NH and the rest of New England AYF regional cheerleading they are a force to be reckoned with.

At the UNH Whitmore Center in front of thousands of fans the Londonderry WildCats U11 and U15 teams were crowned state champions this past Sunday.  The U12’s secured a second place trophy.  All three teams will advance to the New England Cheerleading Regionals with a  chance of earning a spot in the National Cheerleading Championships.

The WildCat U10 team placed fourth out of 12 squads and missed third place (and a trip to regionals) by a mere 10 points.  Also competing in an exhibition were the WildCat Mite-Mite cheerleaders who wowed the crowd with their three minute routine.

Cheerleaders practice long hours in preparing an approximately 3 minute routine they get to perform once in front of a panel of judges and thousands of fans.  In what has to be one of the most pressure packed events in all of sports the young WildCats rose ‘head-and shoulders’ above the competition in gaining state championship status.

Check “WildCats Week 3 Update” for videos from the first weeks of practice to see the preparation going underway in the hot summer evenings behind LMS all in preparation for a November performance at UNH.

In other NH State AYF Championship activity, Wendy Noll-Cole head coach of the WildCat U12 team was named NH AYF Coach of the Year.  Nominations are made from the team members and forwarded to the state board who makes the final decision.

Blue Lions and WildCats Show What They Got !!

Blue Lions join the WildCats at Pep Rally !

The WildCats prepared for their state championship by having a pep-rally this past Monday at LMS.  Before a crowd of parents, friends, and football players that filled LMS in WildCat Blue the WildCat cheerleaders ran through their routines.

In a show of support and friendship the Londonderry Blue Lions joined the WildCats in an exhibition.

The 2009 Spirit Exhibition was a HUGE success.  Full of excitement, fun and most of all teamwork!  All the cheer squads looked and performed well as they prepared for the state championships this past Sunday at UNH.  LYFS will also be hosting the 2009 Fall Classic at Londonderry Middle School on Saturday November 7th 2009.  So if you like cheerleading come join us on November 7th at LMS!

This year’s exhibition highlighted performances by all the LYFS mascots, all 5 LYFS cheer teams (Mitey-Mites through Division 15), and 2 cheer teams from The Londonderry Blue Lions, Division 11 and Division 13!  Of course we can’t forget Elliot who pumped up the crowd and showed off his tumbling skills (or was that stumbling skills?).

If you would like to see more LIVE cheerleading and support both your hometown teams, the Londonderry Blue Lions and the Wildcats, please check back here for updates or come on out to the LYFS Fall Classic on November 7th.
