It was actually Imageabilty who donated the wonderful lifesize Lancer print! To see more of the folks who had their picture taken go to sendtheband.com and click on the "I'm a Lancer" link. (The band will have to find an excuse to get that out at another public event soon for people who missed it.)

There was also a guest appearance by the Lance Drumline that really impressed the crowd.

Thanks to Imageability and all of our sponsors and guests at the event. It was a wonderful day that really captured so much of what Londonderry is about - talented youth, supportive community, and locally engaged businesses.

Jim, I believe Moose Hill Orchards must be profitable or they would have sold out years ago. Andy is always off surfing overseas or some place, so that must be from a profitable business or the millions we the taxpayers of Londonderry have given him. But I do remember the year (many years ago back in the 80's) Andy told the town he needed one million dollars or he would have to sell the farm and the town gave it to him.

I agree the town will be stuck with orchards in the future that no one will be farming and no one will be taking care of. They will be an eyesore to the public and we will get zero taxes collected but we will still be paying on the bonds. Yes open space was a good idea but really not well thought out for the future.

Steve and Jim,

Coming from a different point - the history was fascinating. The registry of deeds for Rockingham was a wealth of information. The Pillsbury family history is very interesting. Londonderry and Derry split, but we both have a connection with the Pillsbury Dough-boy.

Steve

The question is the fact that Andy at the end of the day is a business man – God bless him. Nice to see he has entered the 21st century and the blathering about visions and global warming now make no difference. COLD hard cash wins the day. Vision or no.

The enterprise Moose Hill Orchards is not a profitable business. This continual infusion of cash much of it from our wallets has ended, and he needed to sell the land to someone else.

What happens after this last batch of cash runs out ?? Orchard closes and some of the land has easements placed on it. If one farmer cant make a profit, how can another farmer. Now we are stuck with land that no one is paying taxes on and no one can use.

No so much a win-win anymore for buying open space is it.

Karen, John and Family -

Sincere sympathy and condolences to you - our time here is short and it is wonderful to read Ruth's story and know she made the most of it by doing so much for others and serving as a truly remarkable example of the power of one.

EXACTLY Al

Follow the money - and the tanlge of land-owners and ConCom members - making money over this policy.

Question is, why doesn't the TC think there are ethics violations ??

Are they sharing in the money ??
