Monday, February 25, 2013, Londonderry NH:  The Sonshine Soup Kitchen recently announced their endeavor to secure a permanent home.  A local organization has offered a matching grant if the Soup Kitchen can raise $50,000 before April 1, 2013.   The Soup Kitchen is calling their first fundraising drive 50-50-50.  They are asking 50 organizations to volunteer to raise (or donate) $1,000 each.  Their goal is to earn $50,000 from 50 organizations in 50 days.  The Sonshine Soup Kitchen ministers to the needs of the Greater Derry community including Derry, Londonderry and other neighboring communities.

Joanne Packard, fundraising committee member was on hand during the Lions monthly general business meeting this week to communicate this endeavor.   The Londonderry Lions proudly accepted the challenge to be one of the 50 donating organizations and presented Mrs. Packard a check for $1,000.  The Londonderry Lions would like to offer a challenge to other local Lions Clubs and other civic organizations to match our donation to this very worthy cause.
