Lieutenant Jones Takes the Plunge for Special Olympics

The 14th Annual Penguin Plunge will take place on February 3, 2013 and one of Londonderry own police officers will be participating.  Participants raise funds for Special Olympics of New Hampshire by taking a dip in the ice-cold Atlantic Ocean at Hampton Beach.

According to Tim Jones, “It is that time of year again where I ask for donations that support the Special Olympics of NH and then I jump into the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of winter. This is my fourth year…of being foolish. I don’t necessarily like the cold water, but I love the cause.”

Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) is a non-profit organization providing sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Currently 4,868 participants and thousands of volunteers, friends and family members take part in SONH activities.

Please donate whatever you can. This is a wonderful cause. If you have a minute, please visit Lieutentant Jones fundraising page and donate.”
