A Massachusetts man was recently arrested for the death of Londonderry resident Althea Hicks. Carlos M. Herrera turned himself in on a warrant after striking and killing Hicks on Route 121 in Hampstead late last month.
Hicks was traveling southbound on Route 121 on July 28 when she approached the intersection of Emerson Ave. Herrera, 30, of Clinton, MA, was traveling westbound on Emerson Ave and made a left hand turn onto Route 121, striking Hicks’ vehicle and causing it roll. Hicks was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As a result of the investigation following the accident, an arrest warrant was issued through the Hampstead Police Department. Herrera turned himself in on August 15, 2012 to Officer Matt Moore. He is being charged with Negligent Homicide; he was released on $25,000 personal recognizance bail and will appear in Plaistow District Court on October 1, 2012.
