Final Concert on the Common to be Held this Summer

This week marks the final performance for the annual Concerts on the Common in Londonderry. The evening will feature recording artists Ken Yates and Brian Dunne. Both are gifted singer-songwriters, with excellent resumes and strong followings.

Brian Dunne was part of Boston’s music scene for many years before moving to New York City. His pop/rock style is widely influenced by Sam Cooke, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen. A simplicity and devotion to his music making craft is what makes Brian’s music so authentic and addicting.

“Ken Yates’ music is solid as stone and clear as mountain air… he proves the future is in very good shape.” – Livingston Taylor. Ken went to Berklee School of Music, and, writes songs that are…well, as John Mayer puts it, “Want to hear a great song? (I mean a REALLY great song?)”. Ken’s performance is not to be missed!

The show is open to the public and, as always, free. The concert starts at 7 PM tonight, Wednesday August 8th 2012 and will be held rain or shine. Nice weather means the band will play on the bandstand on the Town Common; rain means the band will play in the High School Cafeteria.

Concerts On The Common is presented by the Londonderry Arts Council. Join them every Wednesday night to support local artists, and this great program.
