Monday Morning (July 30, 2012) at approximately 2:10 am, New Hampshire State Police – Troop B Troopers overheard the Bedford Police Department attempting to stop a pickup truck on South River Road in their town. Bedford PD followed the vehicle onto Route 101 eastbound/Interstate 293 southbound to the intersection of Interstate 93 southbound. The vehicle, later determined to be a 2010 Ford F350 pickup truck bearing Massachusetts registration plates, got off Exit 5 in Londonderry and reversed directions, continuing to travel northbound on Interstate 93 back towards Manchester.
As the vehicle got back onto Interstate 93 northbound, Troopers joined the pursuit. Stop Sticks were deployed by Troopers approximately a mile north of Exit 5 resulting in the deflation of the vehicle’s front left tire. The vehicle continued northbound on Interstate 93 and subsequently took Exit 6 towards Candia Road in the city of Manchester. The suspect vehicle went straight through both sets of traffic signals and back onto Route 101 eastbound.
Troopers set up eastbound on Route 101 just east of Exit 3 with a second set of Stop Sticks. As the vehicle approached this location it took Exit 3 heading southbound on Route 43 in Candia. Approximately 2 miles later the vehicle came to a stop and the driver and passenger surrendered to law enforcement personnel.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as James Rondeau (Age 36) from Concord, NH. Rondeau was charged by the Bedford Police Department on a number of charges and faces the following charges from State Police: Reckless Conduct; Operating While Being Habitual Offender; Disobeying an Officer and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.
From the time the NH State Police joined the Bedford Police Department to assist in the pursuit, speeds ranged from 80 mph on the Interstates to 45 mph on Route 43 in Candia.
