Londonderry 10U Softball Takes Sizzler Tournament Title

The Londonderry Lightning 10U softball team traveled to Somersworth last weekend for the 2nd Annual Somersworth Sizzler Tournament to defend their 2011 championship title.  The 10U crew went 2-1 in Saturday’s seeding games. They entered Sunday’s single elimination round as the second seed after a devastating loss to the number one seed, Litchfield Blast.

The Londonderry Lightning won their first 2 games on Sunday and met the Litchfield Blast in the championship game for the second straight tournament this season.  After 6 innings, the score was tied 8-8, requiring the game to go into extra innings.  Only one inning was required for this talented Londonderry team to score the winning run and hold the Blast to win the tournament title with a final score of 9-8.
