Orchard Christian Fellowship is pleased to announce that they will hold their 13th Annual Vacation Bible School this summer. Once again, VBS will be held at Calvary Bible Church in Derry from June 25th to the 29th, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The theme for this year’s program is SKY: Everything is Possible With God! The Orchard would like to formally invite all children entering preschool through entering sixth grade to come be a part of this year’s adventure.
The Orchard VBS is led by Lisa Powers, on staff at Orchard Christian Fellowship as the Director of Christian Education, with the aid of over 150 volunteers. These volunteers range in age from seventh graders to those in their eighties; no one is too old to help inspire children at SKY! This is very much a community event, as in past years over 300 local children attended and enjoyed the program.
SKY is an “Easy VBS” produced by Group Publishing, Inc. Group’s mission through their VBS program is to make Jesus real to kids, by designing a program that, according to their website, is “intentionally designed to connect your kids to God, create change in their hearts and provide them with actionable ways to share God’s love with others.” To do so, the program integrates music, dancing, snacks, games, videos, crafts, adventures, and friendship to build a God-centered experience that brings the truth of Scripture to life. Each morning, students will meet up with their “crew” of 5 – 8 other kids in varying grade levels, and will spend the morning traveling from station to station with their two “crew leader” volunteers. VBS is an opportunity for students to learn and work together with other kids in their school group, as well as build friendships with their older “big kid” crew leaders.
This year, SKY focuses primarily on Mark 10:27, taking from that scripture five memorable “Bible points” for students to learn each day. At each station throughout the morning children will be taught and reminded again and again that they can TRUST GOD no matter “who they are, how they feel, what people do, what happens, or where you are”. Not only will these life-changing lessons be reinforced through each station they visit, but students will also have a lot of fun that they won’t be able to wait to tell their parents about on the way home.
For more information or to get your children involved in all of the fun and excitement of SKY, please contact Lisa Powers at The Orchard church office, 425-6231 or email lpowers(at)orchardnh.net. Orchard Christian Fellowship, which normally meets at Matthew Thornton School, will be holding summer worship services at Londonderry Middle School beginning June 17, Sundays at 9:30 AM.
