Londonderry’s Salon Bogar underwent some major renovations over the last several months. The salon added not only square footage to its facilities, but has also expanded in the services it provides and its number of employees. To celebrate, they will be hosting a Grand Reopening Event, during which patrons can win a number of prizes and take advantage of great savings.
According to Amy Lamparelli, owner and operator of the salon, the renovations were much needed. Over the 22 years of being in business, the salon grew and expanded into the surrounding business spaces, lending a total of 3,000 square feet to the salon. Most recently, the salon acquired another 600 square feet from a pizza place that went out of business just next door. Realizing that the layout needed adjustment, Lamparelli made the decision to renovate the space.
Working with Londonderry company MacKinnon Construction and New York City Design Consultant Peter Millard, the salon’s renovations began in September of 2011 and were completed in four phases. Completing the renovations in phases allowed the salon to keep its doors open to customers. Lamparelli explained that, as one phase was completed it would be opened, while another section was shut down. The final phase was completed in mid-March of 2012.
More space at Salon Bogar means more services for its customers. Along with a new treatment room and nail services the salon provides, there are now nineteen hair stations and a much bigger retail space. Lamparelli explained that she goes to New York City a couple times a year to shop for new items for customers. Her goal is to expand the retail space inside the salon, creating a sort of boutique.
Staff at the salon has also expanded. A total of seven new employees, including one front desk personnel, have been hired by the salon since the renovations.
All are invited to attend the Grand Reopening Event on Friday May 11, 2012, from 5 PM until 8 PM. The first fifty people in attendance will receive a swag bag filled with items valuing a total of more than $100. All boutique items and products purchased during the event will be given a 20% discount and Club Bogar members will receive double points.
Other highlights of the evening will include a raffle to win a year of Gel Manicures, valued at $900, a total makeover, valued at $300, and other prizes. A silent auction is being held during the event to benefit Girls, Inc, thanks to donations by local businesses. There will also be specials on manicure/pedicure combos and facial appointments scheduled during the evening, as well as a complimentary manicure certificate for those that purchase a $100 gift card.
Currently, the salon’s hours remain the same, open Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 AM until 9 PM, and Friday and Saturday 8:30 AM until 4 PM. Lamparelli said the current hours have been working, and adjustments would be considered if need be.
