I am asking for your vote on March 13th for the position of Town Treasurer.  I have lived in the community for over 20 years and have been a volunteer with many organizations and committees.  Some of these include coaching for LAFA, being active with Troop 426 and Pack 901 at Matthew Thornton, and successfully obtaining new band uniforms for the Lancers.  I have been on the Old Home Day Committee for the past decade, serving as Chairman for the last 7 years.  I am active in St. Jude Parish and formed, and continue to volunteer for, the Warm Homes Organization with Carol Connolly and John Conley.   I have served as a Library Trustee and a Town Councilor and have also served on the Heritage Commission and the Planning Board.

If elected to the Town Treasurer position, I will execute my duties according to State Law.  The Town’s Treasurer is not responsible for creating the budget.  This is a misconception by some in the media.  That responsibility falls to the Town Council.  I will work with the Town’s finance department to make sure all appropriations authorized by the Town Council through the budget process are fulfilled.  I understand the Town’s budget, and its expenditures.  I will see that revenues are deposited correctly and accounted for, and that all the Town’s financial obligations are met, including bond payments.  I will be available to assist Town staff on future bond negotiation in the best interest of the community.  I will work with the Londonderry Finance Department in maintaining its AA2 Credit Rating, and continue to make sure the proper internal controls are maintained and followed.

With over 25 years owning a successful business, I feel I am well qualified to oversee and complete those duties of Town Treasurer.  My in-depth understanding of Town operations will benefit Londonderry as I safeguard the fiscal integrity of our community.  I ask for your vote as Town Treasurer next Tuesday, March 13th.
