High School to Host Teacher Talent Show

Londonderry High School will be hosting their third annual Teacher Talent Show on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 7 PM in the high school cafeteria. The event will feature about 15 to 20 teachers showing their skills in a variety of talents, including singing, dancing, saxophone and “MC”ing.

Mike Wenger, high school math teacher and Math Team Adviser, has been helping with the show since its conception. He explained the idea mirrors one of Manchester’s similar shows and was presented to him by Assistant Principal Art Psaledas. “They apparently sell out Thursday thru Sunday night; he thought we could do something similar and we took off from there.”

Wenger, along with the Math Team, coordinate the show each year. Money raised through ticket sales, which are available from any Math Team member in advance or at the door, is used for the team. “The money is used to help with our expenses and to fund small scholarships for our seniors at graduation,” explained Wenger. He added that tickets are $5 in advance, or $6 at the door, and anyone is welcome to attend.

“I would like to add just how incredibly supportive the community has been. We have over $500 dollars in gift certificates ready as prizes for our participants,” said Wenger. “We also feed the cast and crew that night with the help of another 8 to 10 local restaurants and food service businesses. I am sure these people get asked all the time to donate but yet they were more than willing to help out. I really can’t say enough about the support we receive.”
