Town Drop Off Center to Extend Hours for Brush Removal

The Town can only collect debris that fell in the Town’s right-of-ways (13 feet from the edge of the pavement). Residents are asked NOT to bring brush from their private property to the road.  Please understand that the Town does not have the resources to remove brush and trees from private property. There are several landscaping companies in the area who have the necessary equipment and can provide this service to property owners. Residents can also bring their brush to one of the following locations.

Drop Off Center, on Recovery Way (off of West Road) 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Saturday, November 19, 2011 (for full service)
  • Saturday, November 26, and December 3, 2011 – FOR BRUSH ONLY (no other disposal services available on these dates)
  • Accepts brush up to 6″ in diameter (no charge)

M-R Wood Recycling, 29 Scobie Pond Road, Derry 603-425-0300 For a Fee (call ahead for their hours and fees)

  • Accepts brush & trees (including trees greater than 6″)
  • Residents can bring whatever they can physically unload themselves
  • Residents need to stop at the office first

(This is a working facility and they do not want anyone to get hurt.)

Good day at the Hazardous Waste drop-off today. As at the oil-recycle cnter (behind Central Fire station) Long lines from 9:30 on.
On another note, a take-off from “Where’s Watty”, how about “where’s Dumpy??” After spring cleaning Hovey/Hardy Rd. (I think) has about seven “new” tires thrown into the woods.
Maybe if residents can keep an eye on these dark roads maybe we can catch a few illegal dumpers!?
