Local Humane Society Hosts Another Round of Obedience Classes

The Greater Derry Humane Society will be beginning another six week obedience class. Held in Derry, the classes will teach “man’s best friend”, and man, basic obedience instruction like walking on a leash, sitting, staying, coming when called, and down. The classes will also include instruction and advice on grooming, health and behavioral issues.

Classes will begin Monday, August 29, 2011 and will be held each Monday at 7 PM. The classes will be held at the Salty Farm Lane in East Derry.

Dogs must have a valid rabies vaccination prior to class and must be at least four months old to participate. It is very important that participants do not bring their dogs to the first class, as it is used as a registration and lecture night.

Pre-registration is required, as the classes are limited to twelve dogs only. Total cost of the class is $75, however, $10 is due with the registration form and the remaining $65 is due at the first class. Participants repeating the class need only pay $25.
