Londonderry Hosts Regional Softball Tournament

The Londonderry Lightning All-Star Softball Squad, which includes both a 10U and 12U team, recently held the seventh annual Memorial Day Softball Tournament. Hosted at the Londonderry Athletic Field Association’s Complex, the tournament involved several of the area’s best teams.

Sixteen teams from across the state participated in the two-day tournament here in Londonderry. These teams include the Barrington All Stars, Litchfield Blast, Merrimack Magic, New England Hornets, Rochester Slammers, Salem Blue Devils, Souhegan Valley Storm and Windham All Stars.

Londonderry teams both earned a spot in the semi-finals during the tournament. The 10U team, led by Head Coach Pete Misiaszek, posted a tournament record of 4-1. The 12U team also finished with a 4-1 record, under direction of Head Coach Marc Shay.

The teams began training during the winter months and will play between 60 and 70 games over the course of six or seven tournaments this summer. Upcoming tournaments include the Meredith Jamboree and Somersworth Summer Sizzler.
