UNH Cooperative Extension, Rockingham County is co-sponsoring a Rain Garden Workshop on Wednesday, June 1 from 8:30 AM to 3 PM, at the Urban Forestry Center in Portsmouth. The workshop will cover the benefits of rain gardens, site analysis, design and plant selection, and maintenance.
An optional tour (in your own car) will be held following the workshop and it will include visits to the residential rain garden, tree box filter, bioretention and restored vegetative buffer at the Hodgson Brook Restoration Project in Portsmouth.
Event co-sponsors include the University of New Hampshire Storm Water Center, NH Sea Grant, NH Division of Forests and Lands, and the Hodgson Brook Restoration Project.The cost of the workshop is $10 per person and covers workshop materials and morning refreshments. The deadline for registration is Friday, May 27. Please bring your own lunch and bug spray. Dress appropriately for the outdoor site analysis and tour.
