Murder Suicide in Derry Today

New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney

Just four weeks after the Murder Suicides in Londonderry and Manchester, New Hampshire Derry police found what the NH Attorney General is describing as a murder suicide.

New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney and Derry Police Chief Edward B. Garone announce that an investigation is ongoing into an apparent murder/suicide in Derry, New Hampshire.

On Sunday, November 15, 2009, at approximately 5:22 a.m., Derry police officers responded to a 911 call at 10 Shilah Drive in Derry, New Hampshire.  When they arrived, they found two residents inside.  Claude Roberts (age 76) was dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  His wife, Judith Roberts (age 73), was nearby and alive, but suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.  Mrs. Roberts was eventually taken to a hospital in Massachusetts where she died late this afternoon.

Autopsies will be performed on Mr. Roberts in New Hampshire and in Massachusetts on Mrs. Roberts.

The investigation is still ongoing.
