Once a year under the pavilion the town of Londonderry has a BINGO event with thousands in prizes. A well kept secret this event has been running for several years now. At Old Home Day on Saturday afternoon the pavilion behind the lions hall fills up with BINGO enthusiasts young and old.
Bob Ciarletta the mastermind of this event spends much of the year gathering prizes from local companies interested in sponsoring the event. Each round the winner is offered the prize they would like. Of course the autographed Red Sox baseballs often go first, even so the last game won will result in at least a $25.00 gift card from a local market.
Londonderry does not have a BINGO parlor or regularly scheduled games, just this one that next year will be on August 15th 2009 mark your calendar! For more information on Old Home Day visit the OHD Website.
The old home day event this year was held while a storm front passed through, not a single participant moved from the coveted positions under the Lions Pavilion. To see all the photos from the Bingo event visit the Londonderry Hometown Online News Darkroom!
One exception to the rule if you are lucky enough to qualify for the Londonderry Senior Citizens Inc.
