Three Cent Drop in Londonderry Gas Prices this week

With Londonderry Gas rising and falling this month it pays to watch the Londonderry Hometown Online News Gas Price Table.

Best prices for the month;

  • July 7th $3.95
  • July 15th $3.97
  • July 22nd $3.82
  • July 30th $3.79

These are for regular gas, at this point all 14 gasoline dealers in Londonderry, New Hampshire are below $4.00 per gallon for regular. Even the dealers located near the Exit 4 and Exit 5 have good deals or reasonable prices on gas.

Chuck at the Lukoil (formally a Getty Station) near the crossroads mall was doing a fill-up of his own. Hard to imagine what the fill cost is for 10,000 gallons of gas when a fill up on your own tank is breaking the bank. In the photo you will notice a few cars parked around, as a mater of fact this stations lot is almost always full of cars. Over the years Londonderry has found that Chuck, in addition to being a good neighbor, allowing the kids to hold car wash fundraisers on the weekends, is a great mechanic! He hires local “wrenches” interested in cars, providing quality workmanship.

You can reach Chuck at the Lukoil Station for an appointment at 434-4554.

Thank You Londonderry, for your Generous Support of “Cover The Common”

Cover the Common was a wonderful success. It is such a pleasure living in a community with such spirit. The overwhelming generosity of Londonderry was clearly shown in the over 100 boxes, (an estimated one and a half tons), of food that was place on the common’s bandstand. The food has been boxed, sorted and now waits for its final destination to those that are hungry and less fortunate.

Food began arriving at 9:00 am and continued until 6:00 pm. Young and old alike brought food to the Common. Some boxes were so heavy that two of our volunteers needed to help carry them. The children were the happiest, and the most delighted to drop off the food. They walked up the bandstand stairs proudly presenting their items to the waiting volunteers. Many just stood in wonder as they looked at all of the food and organized chaos surrounding them.

It was wonderful to see the amount of canned meats and tuna fish we collected. We received much needed amounts of syrup and pancake mix, cereal, pasta, sauces, stews, soups, mac and cheese, so many wonderful items that the list could go on and on. Thank you Londonderry – Bless you.

A special thank you goes to the following: Maggie, Bob, and Russel Saur, of Troop 426, Connie and Brendan Wall of the Saint Jude Squires, Karen and Trevor Creed, Katie and Matt Tobin of Troop 109, Sean (of the Godsquad), Donna, and Caty Mahan, Trish Herrmann, Mary Wing Soares and son, Thomas, Sharon Carson and daughter, Deirdre, and Al Baldasaro.

Acoustic Artists Collaborate on Common

Nutfield Sessions Sign-upSunday Afternoon August 3rd from 1pm to 5pm the Londonderry bandstand will be filled with music. The concept of Nutfield Sessions is a “Music-for-musicians event”, the audience is largely the musicians themselves, family and entourage. Others are encouraged to attend and provide support to many of these budding artists.

If you would like to try your hand playing for a crowd on a read stage come on out and sign up! You will be called up in the order on the sign up sheet. Those that play range young and old on “musical training wheels” just starting out to “speed racers” that even hand craft their own instruments.

The Nutfield SessionsEach set runs from 3 to 20 minutes depending on the turnout, with collaboration encouraged sometimes creating a spontaneous jam session you will not want to miss if you are in the Londonderry Area. For further information visit the Nutfield Sessions Website and be sure to invite your friends!  Check the website for weather cancellations the day of the event.

Stay off the Mammoth Yellow Lines!

Like a new suit Mammoth Road adds pinstripe lines in bright yellow today.  The “pair of paints” are done with stripes from the Windham line to the high school complete.  With only the “Top Coat” to go on into North Londonderry.  A long time coming, nice to have a new high quality strip of pavement on this old stage route.  Please stay off the lines while they dry, the fog lines when they go in too!  The locals will have to look at the mess you make for years to come.

Like Peabody Row this is a State Road for those that may not know.
