One week to start of Londonderry Rec Program for 1st grade to 14 years

Program Starts July 7th! Convenient open registration, on first day or any day of the program!

The Summer Playground Program is held each summer at the Town’s elementary schools and operates from July 7th to August 13th. For the 2008 session, the program will be held at Matthew Thornton School.

The program is open to the children of Londonderry who will be entering 1st grade in the upcoming fall up to 14 years old. The children are afforded the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts activities, games and sports, while each day has a special theme. Children are grouped by age and by interest and are supervised in small groups by an experienced staff. Typically there are two field trips planned during each summer.

There is no pre registration for the program, but rather parents may register their children the first day of attendance. Hours of the program are Monday through Friday from 9AM to noon and from 1 PM to 3 PM. Once registered the children may attend as much or as little as they desire.

Cost of the program is $40.00 per child, $50.00 for two children in the same family and $60.00 for three or more children in the same family. Accommodations will be made for any families in financial difficulty.

Daily activities will include arts and crafts, games, sports, playground and break time, and at times special guests. The special guest may include a police officer to talk about safety, a baton twirling show, story teller or bicycle safety. Children are grouped by interests and age.
We usually do 2 field trips a year, one to Canobie Lake Park and one to Chunkies. These trips do involve an additional cost.
